WHATS THE GAME ABOUT ?

Beyond Replicant is an investigative narrative game set in the Blade Runner universe.


You play as Rick Valentine, a replicant detective torn between his robotic nature and his quest for humanity, who is called in to investigate the murder of a young woman named Sally Kerback, found dead behind her father's bar.


Investigate and unravel the mystery by analysing clues and questioning suspects using your robotic or human side, offering different dialogue and interpretations.

THE CORE MECHANICS

Beyond Replicant is a unique experience in a dark and mysterious setting :

  • THE PERSONALITY SYSTEM : Rick Valentine, the character we play, is a replicant, a robotic being torn between his humanism and his robot side. He can use both sides to analyse clues or talk to NPCs. Your two ways of analysing are different, one based more on emotion and the other on facts. This gives you a range of different ways of seeing or angles on a situation.

 

  • CLUE SYSTEM  : Any clues found can be analysed by manipulating them to find something of interest. The same evidence can then be used to question suspects about things they may have said by showing them lies or questioning them about evidence that goes against their version of events..

 
 

  • PERSONAL DIARY : All the clues and things the suspects tell us are kept in our diary to be analysed later and remembered.

WHAT WORK I HAVE DONE

GAME DESIGN : co-design of the main game mechanics and their documentation

LEVEL DESIGN : Design and documentation of the flat of one of the suspects

PROGRAMMATION : Programming of the interaction system with the NPCs, the clue system and their manipulation, creation of the journal with all the information recorded in it. All in C# in unity

SCENARIO : Co-writing the script, characters, dialogue and plot twists
